"Witness". Does that sound like
I'm about to try and "convert" you? Don't fear: from my standpoint it only
means I want to tell you how I feel about singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
and striving to be a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
Born in Utah, I'm a lifelong member of the "Mormon" Church, but that doesn't mean
I've lived a sheltered existence. Years living away in England, Germany and
New York as well as chatting with folks from all over the world on the Internet
have given me a lot of exposure to other ways of life.
More than anything else, my witness is this: there is indeed a loving God who is
our Creator and Father. He answers prayers. He cares about us and
blesses our lives as we seek His help. Singing in the Mormon Tabernacle
Choir has brought me closer to Him. I feel of His love as I pour my heart out
in song. I feel joy in the opportunity of lightening others' loads through
inspirational music.
Yes, I am familiar with the arguments of those who so vehemently oppose my religion on
the Internet. But the gospel principles revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith and
his successors have been a wonderful guide and blessing for me and my family as we strive
to follow the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot imagine a more positive
force in my life. I have absolutely no doubt that this work is of God.
If you are looking for direction in your life; if you are looking for ways to
strengthen your family in meeting the struggles of this world, you will find nourishment here.
