Paul:

Yes, "yo all come back" is still used in the South, although sometimes in Tazewell, we just say "you all come." "Yo-all" is a part of our everyday language. I never realize when I am using it.

But, there other sayings that are used in Tazewell. I remember my grandmother and mother yelling at me to "high-tail it out of here" this of course means "scram."

Another Tazewell expression is "being as how" (meaning "since") or "reach me that thing" and I replied "I retched it."

To get rid of something we use the phrase "get shed of it" or when bragging "how you come on." Inquiring about ones' health we use the phrase "shes coming on pretty good."

These are just some of the phrases that I still use and all are understood in the South as well as Tazewell.

I will remember your inquire and when I find myself using another phrase that I didn't mention, I will let you know.

Paul, there "you go and make me homesick."
