LOCATION: Go 1/4 mile west (toward Richlands) crab Orchard-Witten Fort, Pisgah; On hillside above N&W R.R. underpass. Go thru field gate onto a dirt road going up hill- go approximately 1500 ft. and on right of dirt road, on a rise, is Peery Cemetery- chain link fence; No gate; go over fence by stepping on cinder blocks, stacked up. Several unmarked graves outside of fence on Ft. Witten side, appearing to be old ones.

DIRECTIONS: From Courthouse, Main Street, Tazewell, go west on Rt. 19 from Main St; go to Frog Level on Rt. 19, approximately 2 miles; proceed on same road to Crab Orchard Museum & Ft. Witten, Pisgah; Then get on dual-lane of 19-460 going west (Richlands); proceed about 1/4 mile, then turn into reverse land close to Railroad underpass. Gate into the field is a metal farm gate. Unlocked the day we were there. Cemetery site is owned by Smiley Ratliff. Access is general if courtesy is observed, such as closing the gate, etc. and not blocking dirt road with your vehicle.
Plot is 50 x 50 feet with chain link fencing. There is also a 6 x 12 foot wire fenced plot of unmarked graves.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: These are the grandparents and parents of Eloise Peery Hall, along with brothers, sisters and their husbands and wives and children. Emily Harman, first wife of James E. Peery is here - born 10 June 1867 - died 26 February 1887. Emily is daughter of Susan Vance Harman (Erastus French). James Peery's second wife was Alice Lynch, 1859-1939.

Several graves in a single row marked with field stones are outside of the chain link fence on the Fort Witten side. These appear to be older graves than the marked ones inside the fence.
