Dear Paul,

I was glad to receive your e-mail, since I am familiar with your Peery research. I traveled to Virginia in October, and made a brief stop in Tazewell. At the public library there I found your "Generations" book. I did notice that William Peery, son of Thomas II, son of Thomas was the stopping point for out line.

Unfortunately, I don't have any "primary source proof" as yet to show that I descend from this line. The closest I've come is the following:

1) Will E. Parham Collection at the Blount Co., TN Public Library in Maryville, under the file for Peery - William Peery m. Wynne; m. 2nd 14 Dec 1820 Theresa Kinser in Wythe Co., VA. In his will Vol. 11-147 21 May 1853 says my wife Theresa Peery; dau Mary; dau Catherine; dau Nancy; dau Matilda; son Andres; two sons Thomas J. And Harvey G. However, if your death date of 14 Sep 1866 is correct, then this would be the wrong William.

2) I received a hand-printed family group sheet from somewhere (my uncle, Ken Peery, I believe). It does not say who filled it out, and the source listing says "Peery Family Bible dated 1844." No indication about who has possession of the Bible. It lists children of William Peery and Mary (Polly) Wynne; Margaret, Andrew, Matilda, Elizabeth, Malinda, William W.

3) Additionally, I have a typed family group sheet, stamped "Archive Record" which came from the LDS files. It is for Andrew Peery, and states that his parents are William Peery and Miss Wynn. The source for this sheet is from "Jos. S. Peery Temple, Rec III p. 106." The person submitting the sheet is listed as "Gen. Society of Utah, J.S. Peery, 1763 Herbert Avenue, City, Stake Bonneville, Ward Yalecrest." The Temple Ordinance Date was entered in the 1920's.

I don't know how much proof you require for your records - I have been trying to obtain as much proof about all my facts as possible. I am relatively new to genealogy, so I know I have a long way to go! These sheets are my first step, to at least point in a direction, then try to prove or disprove. So I don't know if you will be able to use any of the information I have yet.

I would love to send you the information I have, and will gather it for you. I am visiting my grandma next week, and will get her to tell me all the Peerys she knows about, who are currently living. Of course, I know our family, but when you get up to my granddaddy's cousins, I am pretty fuzzy. She also has plenty of addresses, and I'll send you those as well, if your interested.

Thanks for your interest, and for the excellent research you've done! I look forward to hearing from you.

Cyndy Miller
