FEBRUARY 1998
- REFINEMENTS TO THIS PAGE
Beginning this month, time scheduled for maintenance of this Home Page is
to be on weekends. Much content is available for adding to this Web
site in the five basic sections. Adjustments will continue toward
refining the appearance of sub-pages created early-on to bring them
into line with current formatting. This will include adding bacground
color or graphic in those locations where appropriate.
Last month it was brought to my attention by Steven Jamison that usage of
the word emigrant needed to be corrected to immigrant in a place where
used in this Web site. Basically, a person emigrates FROM a beginning
location and immigrates TO an ending location. For example, the four
Peery brothers who settled in Augusta County, Virginia in 1740-42,
emigrated FROM Scotland or Ireland and immigrated TO Augusta County,
Virginia. Wherever this usage is found to be incorrect in other locations
in this Web site, it will be corrected.
