Nahaj
Every so often someone notices that the underlying username
in my pages is "nahaj". This always brings up the question
"What does Nahaj mean?". Only those I went to high school with
really know the answer, but I've seen some interesting guesses.
- It is Polish for "Whip". [It is, but I didn't know that in High
School.]
- It is "John" backwards. [Actually it is "Jahan" backwards.]
- It is "Johan" backwards. [Given that I was born in Germany.]
- It is Arabic for "Not a pilgrim". ["Na-Haj" is really strained as
being Arabic.]
- It is an Americanization of Ναχάτς
(Nahats) from the famous Greek phrase: "Ό Ναχάτς
ηταν εδ&omega!";
- It is a transcription of a word in one of the "children's languages"
such as pig Latin. [Clearly not pig Latin... What other ones would
work?]
In full it used to be Nahaj G. Burynag, if that helps any.
