The Show was designed using Auto CAD 3D modeling.
Using this program, I was able to model the set in 3D to
the director before it was built on stage.
The colors for the set came from the research of the play. Twelfth
Night takes place on an island in the Mediterranean sea,
near the islands of Greece.The director wanted several different levels and a very simplistic set.
From the reaserch I found out that the islands of Greece are very rocky with not much fertile soil.
The island are somewhat
steep and terraced, with beautiful white sandy beaches. I chose colors to give the set a tropical feel.
This shows the technique that we used for the floor.
Using a hudson sprayer, the three main colors of the set were
sprayed on the floor to give it a sandy beach look.
The whole set was the surrounded with a blue border to give it more of an island feel.
