Currently I work in the Marriott Library Microcomputer Center at The University of Utah. Basically they pay me to mess around on the net and answer questions of library patrons. Isn't America great? Now if could just get them to stop asking questions...
The lab is equiped with 80+ Macintoshes including 20 PowerPC 7100/66 with 24 MB RAM, CD-ROM, and 250 MB hard drive each, plus 3 Bernoulli 150 MB drives, 3 Zip Drives and a Color-One Scanner.
On the PC side we have 70+ PC's mostly 486s and 17 P90s with 1 GB hard drives 4x speed CD-ROM and 32 MB RAM .
We also have 4 HP LaserJet Printers, including a HP LaserJet 4si, and a DeskJet 1200c/ps color printer.
Come check us out.
In addition to the Microcomputer Center, I also spend alot of time cross-training with the
Audio-Visual department here at the library. This is to prepare us for summer of 1996 when
the two will combine, creating one of the largest Multimedia Labs in the Western U.S.
The future is now, and its happening in Utah. (Who would have guessed?)
