| The
College Environment
The location of the College on the ocean and near the forest of British Columbia, makes it ideally suited to English instruction with the study of the environment. The role of humans and the issues surrounding their interactions with the environment, such as reforestation, recycling, marine culture, fishing, environmental advocacy and pollution are discussed. The implications of international decisions in the management of resources are also considered. |
| The
City
Lester B. Pearson College is located in Victoria B.C. Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and is a major tourist city with over two million tourists annually. As an excursion, participants in the Summer Program will see the many attractions that Victoria and Vancouver Island offer (see Excursions for more detail). |
| Here is a map of the Pearson College campus. The arrow points to the observatory where students can use the state of the art telescope to view the stars. The campus is situated on the water which makes it both convenient and ideal for water activities. The architecture of the campus blends in with the surroundings. It is not uncommon for deer and other forest animals to join the students on campus. |
