Ceramic Web Page
I am a Spanish/Catalonian ceramist working in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to ceramics I worked for many years in architectural design, and, before that, in product, graphic and textile design. I work mostly with stoneware, which I often leave unglazed in order to emphasize form. I construct my pieces by pinching wads of clay, or I build them with slabs. I also make slip-cast porcelain forms from models previously built of folded paper. Much of my work involves the use of plaster molds. Molds have a strong tradition in ceramic history and are, without a doubt, the most ancient form of multiple production. My work can be seen in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Phillips Gallery and Q Street Fine Crafts. To leave your comments or request additional information you can use our e-mail.
