| The
Negative Effects of Mormonism
I often hear, from exmormons, nonmormons, and mormons alike, that
whether they think the LDS Church is true or not, they think the
mormon church is "good" and has alot of good influence
on the world, and in general is a good christian church, and is
not a big worry. But, in my personal experience and studying, have
found this to be utterly false. The Mormon Church has lots of problems,
negative effects, and just plain wrong and evil aspects. To go into
these in detail would be long and lengthy, so I will create a list
of them with links and summaries
- BYU has been involved in shock treatment to rid gays of their
unnatural affection.
- Joseph Smith practiced polygamy in secret before recieving the
official "revelation," even seducing other men's wives
- The Mormon Church practiced polygamy, and still belives in it
as an eternal principle.
- Mormon Polygamy: A History by Richard S. Van Wagoner,

- Mormon Enigma: Emma Hale Smith, by Linda King Newell
and Valene Tippett Avery, University of Illinois Press, 1994

links about polygamy

life, known as the "Blood Atonement" doctorine.
- The Mormon Church reinforces beliefs with guilt of damnation,
threats
- Mormonism is rascist, it denied non-white members access to
the priesthood until 1976, and still holds to the fact that the
black race is part of "Cain's Seed"
- Mormonism is very anti-sexual and instills guilt and shame and
causes people to have disfunctional sexual lives and experiences.
- Mormon leaders hid critical evidence in the Hofman murders in
1980
- Mormons used to practice a form of communism, that they covent
to practice in one of the rituals in the temple, and will practice
in "heaven"
- Mormonism is sexist and put women in a defined lower role, cannot
lead, require men for their salvation, savation is thru men for
them
